How to Apply

All Materials must be received by November 1, 2014
Applications to the Pediatric Residency Training Program must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)A minimum of three letters of recommendation are required, along with the dean's letter. A photograph with the application is preferred. Applicants are invited for an interview based on the strength of their application.

Interview Dates

  • November:  3, 4, 7, 10, 11, 14, 17, 18, 19, 21, 24
  • December:  1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, 16, 17
  • January:  2, 5, 6, 7, 9, 12, 13, 16, 20, 23,

Upon receipt of application, the selection committee will review and notify each applicant  by e-mail of the decision to interview.  Emails will be distributed through the ERAS system.  Applicants may then call and schedule an interview. Unfortunately, due to the volume of applicants, we cannot interview all applicants.

Prelim Neuro:  If you are applying for our combined Pediatric Neuro program, please submit your application to our Preliminary Pediatric Neurology ERAS track, and also to the Pediatric Neurology program.   Please see their website also at this link.

USMLE:  We do require that we receive Step 1 for all applications. We would prefer Step 2 if  completed by January 31st. Applicants must pass Step 2 in order to start in our program

For International Graduate:  For graduates of a foreign medical school, at least one year of clinical training in the US or Canada must have been completed in order to apply. You must be able to meet the requirements to be employed in the US. You must also provide a copy of a valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, and participate in the National Residency Match Program and ERAS.

How to get to OHSU:  Portland has a very easy to use mass transit system.   

  • Fly into Portland International Airport (PDX)  
  • Take the light rail right from the airport to downtown Portland 
  • Take the street car which takes you to our Tram  

Tram is located at 3303 SW Bond Avenue, which will provide you a quick trip from downtown Portland to our campus. 

We will mail a pass to all applicants scheduled for interviews.
