2019 PDX Skincare Festival

Join us for the 2nd annual PDX Skincare Festival — a free community event uniting healthcare and skin care to spread melanoma awareness and education! 

Activities include free services and samples from skincare professionals, free skin cancer screenings, a 5K walk, melanoma patient symposium and more. Brought to you by the OHSU Department of Dermatology as part of the War on Melanoma™.

Activities

Skin Cancer Screenings

11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

OHSU and community providers will provide free rapid skin cancer exams and share self-prevention tips. These screenings are by appointment only.

Skincare Service Booths

9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Professionals from various skincare fields will be on-hand to offer free services, samples, tips and info. Tables/services include:

  • Aestheticians/Cosmetologists: Mini facials, make-up application, parafin dips with hand massages, laser treatment consultations, mini exfoliations, brow threading, lip scrubs, 1 coat manicures & fake lash applications
  • Accupuncture: 10 minute accupuncture sessions
  • Men's Services: Men's shaving line-ups, beard treatments and hair cuts
  • Hair stylists: Mini styling sessions, scalp massage
  • Massage therapy: 10 minute chair massages
  • Spray tan technicians: Spray tan, skin quench spray

 

AIM at Melanoma 5K Walk & Fun Run

Registration opens 8:00 a.m. — Walk begins 9:00 a.m.

AIM at Melanoma and SolSurvivors are hosting a community walk to raise awareness and funds for skin cancer. Walk solo, or gather a team! All proceeds will support the Melanoma Tissue Bank Consortium.

Melanoma Patient Symposium

Join AIM at Melanoma's Living With Melanoma Symposium where we bring together leading medical and wellness professionals with people affected by melanoma to learn, connect and share.

Whether you are recently diagnosed, are in treatment, or have completed treatment, come and share your questions and experiences with other members of the melanoma community, while learning from leading experts in the field.

Exhibit (OHA/OBMT Skincare Professionals)

We have partnered with the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and Oregon Board of Massage Therapy (OBMT) to unite health care and skincare in promoting skin health and skin cancer awareness.

We are seeking OHA and OBMT licensed skincare professionals to host FREE vendor booths at the PDX Skincare Festival.
