Facial Palsy

Facial palsy is a paralysis of part of the face caused by non-functioning of the nerve that controls muscles in the face, particularly around the eye and mouth. OHSU offers a variety of procedures for treating facial palsy including surgery to improve symmetry and improve the function of the eyelids and reduce water. Surgery may also be performed on the forehead, brow, mid face and lower face, depending on the severity of the condition.
