Experience OHSU Graduate Medical Education, the wonders of Oregon and something bigger.

Excellence in subspecialty training

OHSU Casey Eye Institute serves as the Department of Ophthalmology for Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), and holds educating residents and fellows as one of its most important missions.

Ophthalmology and health care have experienced explosive innovation on many fronts. OHSU Casey Eye Institute is at the forefront of some of the most exciting developments. Casey was built to bring the latest technologies and treatments to our region, and is a leader in informatics, advanced imaging and gene therapy.

Our bold goal is eliminating preventable blindness in Oregon and beyond, and our patients are some of the first in the nation to access new therapies and treatments. For many ears, we have been ranked among the top ten NEI funded Eye Research Institutes in the U.S. Our research faculty are making significant contributions in many areas, including informatics, advanced non-invasive ophthalmic imaging, gene therapy, tele-health, inflammatory eye disease, retinal disease, glaucoma, oculoplastics, cornea, neuro-ophthalmology and public health in ophthalmology.

A fellow trains with Casey experts to perfect surgical skills.
