Lagers for Lenses

Come raise a stein and help provide the gift of sight!

On Sunday, April 28, 2019, OHSU Casey Eye Institute will partner with Portland's Zoiglhaus Brewing Company to host Lager for Lenses. The benefit will help fund quality prescription glasses for underserved Oregon residents through the Casey Community Outreach Program.

Zoiglhaus will donate 10 percent of all sales, including food and non-alcoholic drinks, to help pay for high quality prescription glasses offered by the Community Outreach Program.

Zoiglhaus will offer a special lager taster tray throughout the day, and event attendees can also tour the Casey Eye Institute's 33-foot, fully outfitted mobile ophthalmology unit, which provides free medical vision screenings at locations ranging from the state's remote corners to Portland's urban core.

Entirely donor funded, the Casey Community Outreach Program is staffed by volunteer eye doctors, technicians and support staff. Since 2010, it has traveled 30,000 miles, making 265 visits at over 75 different community centers and health clinics to provide medical vision care to over 8,000 community members. In addition to providing no-cost glasses, the program screens for eye disease in an effort to eliminate preventable blindness.

If you are unable to attend but still wish to support the Casey Community Outreach Program, please consider a donation. We hope to see you there!
