This is one of several OHSU resources supported by our NCI Cancer Center Support grant. The grant ensures that cutting-edge services are available for the researchers and programs of the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute. The histopathology shared resource is a core facility that provides histology and immunohistochemistry services to OHSU Knight Cancer Institute investigators.

The Histopathology Shared Resource is a College of American Pathologists(CAP) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) accredited core facility that provides investigators with histology services critical for the progress of biomedical research. Additionally, we provide investigators with consultation and education in regard to the best use of histopathology services.

George Thomas, M.D., is a board-certified anatomic pathologist with expertise in urologic pathology and translational research. Dr. Thomas is experienced in multiple components of molecular pathology, to include biomarker development and validation, image analysis, immunohistochemistry, immunoflorescence and fluorescence in situ hybridization.

Todd Camp is a certified histotechnologist and a new addition to the lab as of March 2014. He has experience in tissue embedding, sectioning, the performance of special stains and immunohistochemistry.


Jenny Eng is a senior research assistant  with experience in performing immunohistochemistry, tissue embedding, sectioning and use of the cryostat.  


Joscelyn Zarceno is a laboratory assistant who provides support to technical and professional laboratory personnel by performing data entry, record keeping and other clerical tasks related to laboratory operations for the Histopathology Shared Resource.
