The Tele-STAR Study

Tele-STAR uses a well-known, in-person program called "Star-C" to provide education and support to family caregivers, but modifies it so caregivers can access the program through videoconferencing over the Internet. Guided by trained research staff at the Layton Center for Aging and Alzheimer's Disease, caregivers develop skills and effective methods to understand and address the changes and challenges caused by dementia. The aim of Tele-STAR's research is to learn how well it matches STAR-C in helping caregivers learn about coping with challenging dementia behaviors.

Participate in Tele-STAR

Caregivers will participate in video conferences, watch educational videos and complete related online questionnaires. For more information contact Dr. Allison Lindauer at or 503-494-7647
