About me

Dr. Jason Kroening-Roche (he/him/his) is a family doctor. He cares for entire families, including children and pregnant women. He works in the clinic and in the hospital, where he delivers babies and cares for patients when they are admitted. He believes in the power of long-term relationships with patients to help them achieve their health goals.

Dr. Kroening-Roche has special training in opioid use disorder treatments, transgender and gender-affirming care, and hepatitis C treatment. He is passionate about promoting nutrition to prevent and treat disease. And he also loves teaching medical students and residents.

Dr. Kroening-Roche has worked in several global health settings and traveled widely. He spent a year as a visiting faculty member at a Tanzanian medical school in East Africa. Currently, he works with a community health promotion program in Ghana that he co-founded in 2011 with his partner. The program is called Rural Health Collaborative and focuses on rural health and women’s empowerment.

Originally from Portland, Dr. Kroening-Roche feels very fortunate to live in the same community where he works. When he’s not working, he enjoys doing house projects and playing music with his child Sebastian

If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
