Pulmonary Vascular Diseases Program

Pulmonary hypertension is a condition where high pressure in the blood vessels within the lungs cause strain on the heart and lungs.  This can result in serious problems, including symptoms such as shortness of breath, dizziness, and difficulty with exertion.  Ultimately, it can lead to heart failure.

The pulmonary hypertension clinic at Oregon Health & Science University is a multidisciplinary group of physicians who work to accurately diagnose and treat pulmonary hypertension. We are experts in a wide range of therapies for pulmonary hypertension, allowing us to develop a personalized treatment plan with each patient. We coordinate closely with cardiology, rheumatology, interventional radiology, and have close relationships with lung transplant centers across the west coast to ensure our patients get the absolute best care.  Additionally, we are active in clinical research, and patients have the opportunity to participate in registry trials and investigational trials for novel therapeutics that aim to further our understanding and improve outcomes in pulmonary hypertension.
