Protocols

Ensuring reproducibility

We are committed to ensuring the reproducibility of our findings by electing to share our protocols and present them in a clear and accessible way. If there are any questions or suggestions to better clarify our techniques, feel free to contact us. We are happy to work together with fellow researchers to troubleshoot or discuss ways to improve techniques.

As a lab, we strongly believe that it is the responsible thing to do. Lack of reproducibility has become a threat to the progress of research and its path to making meaningful clinical impacts. Openly sharing the most up-to-date protocols is one way we can strive to end the frustrating 'as seen in previously published' citation chase that can befall many long-lived laboratories and lead to the erroneous use of outdated protocols. It can also waste a lot of time.

Thankfully, the resources and tools needed for more transparency in scientific research are free and available for researchers to utilize.

Protocols.io

Instead of uploading word docs that can become outdated very quickly, we use protocols.io as a public medium to share our protocols and techniques. View our protocols.io profile here, where our protocols are kept up-to-date. If you feel inclined, you can create your own account to ask questions on certain steps and be part of the movement toward greater rigor and reproducibility in science. Feel free to join us in spearheading this much-needed shift in research responsibility.
