MR Peds Frameless Only With Contrast-Ingenia

Revised- 2/8/2019
Charge for Brain W
Ingenia Systems Only: MR4, MR2, DMR2, Beaverton

0 Months to 2 Years - 3mm Slices, 1mm Gap
2 Years to 9 Years - 4mm Slices, 1mm Gap
Above 9 years use Adult Protocol

NO PADDING OR HEADPHONES DUE TO STEREOTACTIC SEQUENCES

POWER INJECTIONS WITH SMALL IVs:
  • If the exam is with pediatric sedation, you need to let the pediatric sedation team know what size IV you need prior to them getting the patient prepped.
  • It is ok to use small IVs if that is appropriate for patient size. Hand inject during perfusion scanning instead of using the power injector, and make a note/screenshot for the rads.

Split contrast injection for 2 injections:
  • DCE: Use 1/3 of the total contrast amount. Injection rate: 4-5ml/sec. Start injection AT THE SAME TIME YOU BEGIN Dynamic 8. 15ml Saline chaser
  • DSC: Use 2/3 of the total contrast amount. Injection Rate: 4-5mL/sec. Start injection 8-10 seconds after beginning the sequence.
  • Head Coil 1.5T or 3T Ingenia Systems only
Localizer Mode Slice Gap FAT SAT FOV Scan Range
INJECT CONTRAST - POWER INJECTION. SEE ABOVE FOR INSTRUCTION
    DCE Only available on 3T - - - - - Inject on 8th dynamic.
    1/3 total contrast amount.
Injection rate: 4-5cc/sec. 15mL saline flush.
    Center through lesion of interest.
    Do not add slices.
    Send to PACS
    DSC Run on both 1.5T & 3T - - - - - Inject 8-10 seconds after dynamics begin.
    2/3 total contrast amount.
Injection rate: 4-5cc/sec. 15mL saline flush.
Cover lesion and as much brain tissue as possible.
    Do not add slices.
