Practice Description:  Northwest Hospitalists is a small hospitalist program at critical access Klickitat Valley Hospital. Program is currently a mix of physicians and APPs (PA, NP), though slowly transitioning to APP-predominant program. KVH is a small though economically robust hospital and allied clinics. High morale and low turnover amongst providers and staff. On-site services include 24/7 ER, OR (daytime hours only, no emergency surgeries), diagnostic imaging, laboratory, pharmacy, rehab services, clinics including family practice, behavioral health, visiting specialties.

Duties & Responsibilities:  Admit and care for adult (16 yrs or older) patients for acute medical issues and for skilled and rehab care as part of "swing bed" program. Work in collaboration with on-site providers (ER, Gen Surg, Family Practice, others) and staff (RNs, PT, OT, RT, admin). Be available for admitted patients 24/7. Be open for admits 6 AM - 11 PM (protected sleep time; ER manages patients admitted in those hours before handing off next morning). Low average daily census 4-6 though can flex higher. Remain within 30 minutes of hospital and available by phone when on-shift and clinical work completed. Work part-time, minimum 3-4 consecutive days per month. Flexible scheduling.

Experience & Qualifications Required or Preferred: Master’s degree from an accredited physician assistant school. Washington State physician assistant license.
