Dr. Yarris is recipient of CEM award for educational research

Dr. YarrisThe Council of Emergency Medicine Residency Director's (CORD) Academy for Scholarship in Education Emergency Medicine has given Lainie Yarris, M.D., MCR, an associate professor in the department of emergency medicine, the Academy's 2013 Distinguished Educator Award in the category of Education Research.

The major purpose of the award is to help define, recognize, and award outstanding educators who have met rigorous standards of academic excellence within the last five years. This prestigious award is modeled on the highly regarded Fulbright and Jaworski Faculty Excellence Awards program developed and pioneered by Dr. Nancy Searle at the Baylor College of Medicine, and distinguishes the recipient as a leader in emergency medicine education and educational scholarship.

"The award recipients, including Dr. Yarris, have fully justified their selection as special educators in emergency medicine, and form a solid core for growth and development of our unique specialty society Academy," said Joseph LaMantia, M.D., chair of the CORD Academy for Scholarship.
