Dr. Nagel receives RSA award

Dr. NagelBonnie Nagel, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience, has been selected to receive the 25th Annual Research Society on Alcoholism (RSA) Young Investigator's Award.

The award is given to an individual who has demonstrated themselves to be a motivated thinker and a leader at a young stage in their academic career. Dr. Nagel will present a plenary at the RSA meeting the year following receipt of the award.

Dr. Nagel's research focuses on adolescent brain and cognitive development in healthy and at-risk populations. Her recent work has focused on understanding the development of executive, emotional, and reward-based systems in the brain and how perturbations to these systems may result in a heightened vulnerability for psychopathology, including alcohol abuse, during the adolescent years.
