Dr. Cain, Class of '85, chosen President-Elect of AAFP

Jeffrey Cain, MD ‘85, FAAFP, a family physician in Denver, Colo., has been chosen president-elect of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Previously, he served three years as a member of the AAFP Board of Directors. The AAFP represents 100,300 physicians and medical students nationwide. Cain was elected to the position by the Congress of Delegates, the AAFP’s governing body, during the organization’s annual meeting here.

As president-elect of the AAFP, Dr. Cain will advocate on behalf of family physicians and patients nationwide to inspire positive change in the U.S. health care system.

Dr. Cain graduated magna cum laude from Willamette University in Salem, Ore., with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and chemistry. He earned his medical degree from OHSU and completed his family medicine residency at the Mercy Family Medicine Residency program in Denver, Colo., where he was chief resident.
