Education and background
Sohyon “Michelle” Kim received a Certificate of Advanced Study in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (2016) from the University of Pittsburgh, her D.M.D. (2013) from the University of Pittsburgh, and a B.A. (2003) in mass communication and a Bachelor of business administration (2003) from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. Before joining OHSU, she worked as an associate orthodontist in Texas and as an adjunct instructor of Orthodontics at the University of Pittsburgh. She joined Oregon Health & Science University in 2017 to accept a position as an assistant professor in the Department of Orthodontics.
Teaching and professional affiliations
Dr. Kim teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in dentistry and orthodontics. She is a member of several dental and orthodontic societies including the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) - a national dental honor society.
