OHSU Welcomes New Faculty Recruitment Manager
The Center for Diversity & Inclusion proudly welcomes Dr. Adrienne Thompson, OHSU's Diversity Manager for Faculty Recruitment and Retention.
In her role, she will be responsible for assisting the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, and the Research Mission to increase the diversity outreach of our faculty ranks. Her responsibilities will include supporting search committees, providing expertise on academic diversity, training, strategies for diversity recruitment, and more.
Prior to OHSU, Dr. Thompson worked for California State University, Sacramento for nearly 20 years. She has served in various capacities: as a research administrator, lecturer, and an instructor in the Ethnic Studies Department. Additionally, Dr. Thompson served as an adjunct part-time faculty member at Argosy University in the doctoral degree program in education leadership.
Dr. Thompson earned a BA degree in Sociology from San Jose State; a master's degree in Bilingual Multicultural Education and doctoral degree (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies, both from California State University, Sacramento. Her research interests include post-secondary education, faculty diversity and retention, gender and equity issues, social change, role-modeling and mentorship for underrepresented students and faculty.
