Monthly and weekly educational conferences, covering a wide variety of urologic topics, are an integral part of the residency training program. Faculty and Residents work together in coordinating the conference topics and teaching materials.

Didactic Conference and Grand Rounds takes place Monday mornings at 7:00am- 8:30am and is attended by the residents and faculty.  Upcoming cases are discussed and past cases are reviewed. Grand rounds consist of urologic lectures presented by the residents, faculty, and visiting professors. OHSU faculty, residents, staff and community urologists are encouraged to attend this meeting and participate in discussion following the lectures.

GU Tumor Board is a multi-disciplinary conference that meets twice monthly on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays at 7:00am to review cases. Faculty and residents from several OHSU Departments participate (urology, pathology, hematologic oncology, and radiology).

Pediatric Urology Educational Conference is a weekly 30 minute educational conference where a combination of common and complex pediatric urological conditions are reviewed. Residents primarily participate in this conference during their pediatric urology rotations. Topics are assigned at the beginning of the rotation and are often adjusted to coincide with interesting or complicated patients treated during the rotation. These conferences offer the chance for a small group discussion and teaching with the four pediatric urology faculty to enhance the educational value of the rotation.

Journal Club meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00am to discuss current research through article review.

Morbidity & Mortality Conference meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00am to discuss current research through article review.

Visiting Lectureships occur three times annually. In the Fall, the Lloyd lecture is conducted by a visiting faculty member. This faculty gives a Grand Rounds lecture and spends an afternoon reviewing cases with residents. In the Spring, the Hodges Research Competition is an annual research competition between the residents. The visiting faculty gives a Grand Rounds lecture, spends an afternoon with the residents, and later judges the research competition.  The third visiting professor presents a lecture in the Summer regarding DEI issues.
