The Radiation Oncology Residency Program typically holds interviews during November and December. Approximately 15-20 applicants are selected for personal interviews, per residency slot available. Interviews will be conducted by Faculty Physicians, Residents and select Radiation Medicine staff. Successful candidates have often spent a clinical rotation in our department during their 3rd or 4th year as a medical student.
All Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) applications are reviewed by the Radiation Medicine Residency Committee. Invitations to interview with the program are sent to selected candidates in October via an online scheduling portal.
The evening prior to your interview day, you and your spouse/significant other are invited to attend a casual dinner with the current Radiation Medicine residents. Dinner is typically held at 6pm PST at a popular restaurant in Downtown Portland.
Residency interviews are held at OHSU's Marquam Hill campus and interview days begin promptly at 7am PST. Interviews are conducted with panels of two faculty physicians over a 20-minute period. Candidates may also interview with at our department administrator, radiation therapist manager, and lead dosimetrist.
