Graduation and Verification for MS Program with DI

GPHN MSDI Graduates 2017

Students concurrently enrolled in the MS in Human Nutrition or MS in Food Systems and Society and DI Graduate Certificate graduate with a master of science degree and a dietetic internship graduate certificate. To be eligible to graduate, students must maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA, pass all required courses, complete the required minimum number of credits, complete all planned supervised practice experiences, which may exceed 1000 hours, and finish all thesis or capstone requirements. From the time of matriculation, students have six years to complete the graduate degree requirements, unless granted a leave of absence. The successful completion of a master’s or doctoral degree is a requirement to complete the DI Graduate Certificate program and to receive a verification statement.

Students who successfully complete both components of the MS and DI programs receive a verification statement signed by the DI Director. Upon completion of all program requirements and the conferring of the graduate degree, exit paperwork is processed and submitted to the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) for the student to be granted eligibility to sit for the registration examination for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN). State licensure and state certification are entirely separate and distinct from registration or certification by the CDR. Information on Oregon state licensure can be found at the Health Licensing Office of Oregon website
