To be eligible to graduate, students must maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA, pass all nutrition (NUTN) courses with a B- or better, pass all other required courses with a grade of C or above (please see the GPHN Student Handbook for course requirements for the MSDI program), complete the required minimum number of credits, complete all planned supervised practice experiences, which may exceed 1200 hours, and finish all thesis or capstone requirements. From the time of matriculation, students have six years to complete the graduate degree requirements, unless granted a leave of absence.
Students who successfully complete the MSDI program receive a verification statement signed by the DI Director. Upon completion of all program requirements and the conferring of the graduate degree, exit paperwork is processed and submitted to the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) for the student to be granted eligibility to sit for the registration examination for Registered Dietitians (RD). State licensure and state certification are entirely separate and distinct from registration or certification by the CDR.
