Anna Anderson, PMHNP, Instructor, Department of Psychiatry, OHSU, received her undergraduate degree from Reed College. She received her nursing degree and master’s degrees (adult health, mental health) from OHSU. Anna has practiced at a variety of settings, including a community mental health clinic, a Multnomah County health clinic, and an inpatient psychiatric hospital. Most recently, Anna worked at the Center for Women’s Health at OHSU, where her practice focused on treating pregnant and postpartum women. She finds it very rewarding to support those who are caring for patients. Current treatment modalities include medication management and psychotherapy (supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and interpersonal therapy). When not at work, Anna enjoys scuba diving and taking Wally the corgi on long walks.

Sydney Ey, Ph.D., Professor of Psychiatry, OHSU School of Medicine, and associate director, Resident and Faculty Wellness Program and OHSU Peer Support Program, is a clinical psychologist who received her Ph.D. at the University of Vermont and completed her internship at Judge Baker Children's Center/Boston Children's Hospital. She was involved in training psychologists in graduate programs before joining OHSU's Resident and Faculty Wellness Program in 2005. Dr. Ey conducted research with at-risk youth on optimism and coping and with medical students and residents on attitudes about seeking counseling and the role of perfectionism and the Imposter Phenomenon. She provides individual counseling with a cognitive-behavioral and positive psychology emphasis and presents resilience building workshops to resident and faculty groups.

Mary Moffit, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Oregon Health & Science University, is director of the OHSU Resident and Faculty Wellness Program and the Peer Support Program. A clinical psychologist who received her Ph.D. from the Wright Institute and completed a fellowship in Medical Psychology, Dr. Moffit was the first psychologist embedded in the OHSU Department of Internal Medicine. In 2004, she joined Graduate Medical Education leadership to design and develop a comprehensive wellness program that is now a national model for academic medical centers. Dr. Moffit and her team provide free, highly confidential coaching, counseling and medical consultation for all School of Medicine residents, fellows and faculty. In addition, she presents educational workshops directed at building a sustainable medical practice, preventing burnout and early intervention to prevent impairment. In 2016, Dr Moffit and her team developed the OHSU School of Medicine's Peer Support Program, modeled on Brigham and Women's innovative program, providing triage after an adverse event, referrals to trained physician peer supporters and resources directed at recovery from professional distress.

Marie Soller, M.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, OHSU School of Medicine, completed her undergraduate and medical education at Stanford University, and her psychiatric residency at San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. Dr. Soller has a strong interest in resilience, life work balance, and the role of self-care and social support. Dr. Soller is pleased to be a part the Resident and Faculty Wellness Program and working with physicians who might be having personal or professional difficulties. Dr. Soller uses medication evaluation and management, and psychotherapy (cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and supportive therapies) to address these issues.

Marina Valdez, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, is a licensed clinical psychologist in the OHSU Resident Faculty Wellness Program. She is originally from El Paso, TX and completed her undergraduate education at Texas Tech University. She received her master's degree and Ph.D. from the University of Oregon Counseling Psychology program. Dr. Valdez completed her internship at Suffolk University Counseling Center in Boston, MA and then her post-doctoral residency at Reed College Health & Counseling Center in Portland, OR. She has worked with undergraduates for over a decade, focusing on supporting diverse student populations through their college careers. She is excited to join the RFWP team working with residents and faculty to enhance both professional and personal development. She has special interests in multicultural psychology, the role of self-care in mental health, and the prevention of burnout and compassion fatigue. She values the use of a trauma-informed framework within a cultural/relational orientation and believes cultural context plays a significant role in shaping our experiences and our identities. Dr Valdez values increasing our awareness of our cultural selves to validate, gain insight, reframe, and reclaim our experiences.
