OHSU Virtual Visits-Urgent Care team receives the June Best Practice Award

Congrats to the OHSU Virtual Visits—Urgent Care team on receiving the June Best Practice Award  for Virtual Visits-Urgent Care.  This was awarded to OHSU Virtual Visits- Urgent Care by the Patient Access Symposium, a collection of Academic Medical Centers fighting the good fight on improving patient access.

The OHSU Telemedicine Network is Oregon's oldest and most comprehensive telehealth program. OHSU gives patients in community hospitals throughout the region immediate access to pediatric, neonatal, stroke, trauma, and other specialists 24/7.

Virtual urgent care is a video visit allowing the patients to connect with a provider from  their mobile device or computer. The providers can diagnose and treat a wide-range of adult and pediatric non-emergency medical conditions, including calling in any necessary prescriptions . And, the cost of a virtual visit is typically lower than being treated at a doctor's office, urgent care center or emergency room.

All OHSU providers are licensed and board-certified Nurse Practitioners  or Physician Assistants.
