EM leadership travels to Bangkok

John Ma, M.D., Beech Burns, M.D., M.C.R., and Al Sabbaj, M.D., traveled to Thailand last week to learn, teach, and meet with Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS) emergency medicine leaders about pediatric emergency medicine, systematic approaches to the continuity of prehospital care and emergency department use of ultrasonography.

Dr. Burns led a seminar on a wide range of pediatric emergency medicine topics.

Dr. Sabbaj lectured on the continuity of care, including supporting BDMS EMS inter-facility transportation and transitions from EMS to emergency department to critical care.

Drs. Ma, Sabbaj and Burns provided site visits, lectures and an ultrasound workshop.

Additionally, two teams of emergency medicine physicians and nurses from BDMS will be welcomed at OHSU in the Fall of 2017 to further collaborate on emergency medicine issues.
