Scan Notes

Adjust FOV and slices to best fit the patient's age and size:

  • 0-2 years: 3mm slices / 1mm gap /small FOV
  • 2-9 years: 4mm slices / 1mm gap / smaller FOV 
  • Over 9 years and adults: 4mm slices/1mm gap / larger FOV
     
  • Send DSC source images to PACS, Intellispace and Archive
  • Send Post Ax T1 to Intellispace
  • Post process DSC
  • Archive all sequences

POWER INJECTION
DSC: Injection Rate: 4-5mL/sec. Start injection 8-10 seconds after beginning the sequence. For peds patients with smaller IVs, consult with Rad and peds RN or Anesthesiologist to determine a safe injection rate.

Single Voxel Spectroscopy 1cm3 - - - - - Rad to place. Center on lesion. Avoid bone with placement in all 3 planes. Don't see a mass, call radiologist. multiple masses. Pick biggest one remote from bone/fat/blood. If mass has rim enhancement, include some of rim that enhance in voxel.
Single Voxel Spectroscopy 1cm3 - - - - - Center on contralateral side in same general location as mass. Avoid bone.
