Introduction to Transgender Health for Medical and Mental Health Professionals

Course description

The OHSU Transgender Health Program faculty and staff are offering this course designed for medical and mental health professionals to learn about gender affirming care across the lifespan. Content covered during this course includes an overview of pubertal suppression, hormone therapy, gender affirming surgical care, sexual health and fertility, as well as mental health assessment, writing letters of support, and care planning for surgery. The course will also include a presentation on trauma informed care, multidisciplinary case discussions, strategies to create inclusive and affirming environments of care through policy and practice.

The target audience includes primary care and specialty physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and mental health providers.

Pre-registration for this course is closed. On-site registration opens at 7:30 a.m. on September 21.

Registrations cancelled prior to 9/14/2019 will receive a refund of 80% of the fee. Registrations cancelled after that date will not be refunded.
