About this courseMedical and mental health needs for transgender youth are not being met due to lack of trained professionals. There is a great need for more medical and mental health providers trained and experienced to work with transgender and gender diverse youth and families. This training will use an innovative approach, incorporating asynchronous, individual learning with recorded didactic sessions followed by a synchronous, live training session building upon the didactics utilizing case-based questions and discussions. Participants will be able to: Describe the common mental health concerns faced by gender diverse youth. Apply skills acquired to provide gender affirming care Demonstrate ways to apply interdisciplinary care in providing optimal care to this patient population, and explore common benefits and challenges to doing this. |
