Training and Resources for Parents

Training for parents

Parents and caregivers interested in learning more about the CPS model are encouraged to attend a CPS Parent Group. These groups are aimed at teaching parents and caregivers alternate strategies for intervening when their child is struggling.

The CPS process can help repair the relationship that you have with your child while reducing challenging behaviors, teaching skills and solving problems (so they don't keep coming up) allowing your child to successfully manage day to day expectations.

There are several options available for parents that range from a 4-6- week overview of the model to an 8-week in-depth training. Parent Groups tend to be smaller in size, to accommodate different learning styles and allow for participants to discuss and practice what they are learning.  For a complete list of Parent Group Trainings by state please visit Think:Kids.  Please view the Calendar of CPS Trainings and Events scheduled in Oregon.
