Dr. Primack earned his M.D. from the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine. Following his internship, he completed a radiology residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Primack spent two years at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C., for his thoracic radiology fellowship. In 1994, he joined the faculty of Oregon Health & Science University as an assistant professor of radiology. His current rank is professor of diagnostic radiology and of medicine in the Division of Pulmonary Medicine. Dr. Primack has been the vice chair of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology since July 2000 and graciously served, from December 2010 to July 2012, as interim chair of diagnostic radiology.
Dr. Primack belongs to several professional organizations, including: the American Roentgen Ray Society, Radiological Society of North America, the Society of Thoracic Radiology, the Oregon Thoracic Society, and is past president of the Oregon Radiological Society. He has published over 60 journal articles, most of which were peer-reviewed. Dr. Primack also is a reviewer for the journals: Radiology, American Journal of Roentgenology, and RadioGraphics. He is on the editorial board of Seminars in Roentgenology, and the Journal of Respiratory Diseases.Read more
