Biography

Dr. Robinson is a primary care physician. He takes care of pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric patients and has advanced training in sports medicine. He was born and raised in Salt Lake City, UT. Before enrolling at the University of Utah, he took a two-week high school senior trip to the village of Sepamac in Guatemala where he taught basic first aid to the Mayan descendants of the village. While in college, he volunteered for a variety of projects, notably teaching science to a 5th grade class, and serving as a mentor and a teacher at the Salt Lake City jail and at the Shriners Hospital.

During the 2002 Winter Olympics hosted by Salt Lake City, Dr. Robinson worked as an emergency medical technician. While attending medical school, he volunteered to be a manager at the Saturday Clinic for the Uninsured in downtown Milwaukee, WI. During his tenure as a manager at the clinic, he was able to help implement a new sub-clinic designed to target patients with chronic disease to improve their health and access to care. He continued improving the triad of access to care, effective care through preventative medicine, and the cost effectiveness of care during his residency at OHSU. After residency his love for sports was a driving force to begin a fellowship in sports medicine at OHSU.

Dr. Robinson is an avid runner and loves spending time working out with his wife. Living at the foot of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains gave him his thirst for outdoor living. He also enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, and hiking.

    He's good.

  • Jan 10, 2019

My wait time was about two minutes! I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Very quick service. Just the way I like it.

  • Dec 30, 2018

Dr Robinson was personable and obviously interested in my running experience and chief complaint of joint paint. In fact, I selected him as my provider due to his sports med expertise. However, I worry that the appointment focused too much on that one issue at the expense of a more comprehensive review of my health. A couple things could have improved my experience. First, clearer communication about what to expect at an "establishing care" appointment. I was expecting basic blood labs to get a baseline, a comprehensive physical exam, and a full review of my medical history. These did not happen (which is fine if they don't normally happen at the first apt) and we quickly focused on my joint pain. Second, due to my misunderstanding of what to expect, I was also confused when my MA asked if I was there for an annual. Not realizing this was different than an establishing care appointment, I asked what an annual entailed and said sure when it matched my understanding of an establishing care appointment. Dr Robinson's first words to me when he entered the room were a rather rapid explanation of why an annual was not covered on my insurance and not needed.

  • Nov 02, 2018

Hi, I think Dr. Robinson is a very capable doctor. I did have a problem with how long I had to wait for him after I went into the waiting room ,after I went into the medical room. It seemed like it was about 20 minutes and that's.... that was before the... that was after the wait that I had to do in the waiting room. So, all together, I was in there for about 50 minutes just waiting to have... just to have the whole thing completed and I thought that that's not happened before OHS....at the clinic.

  • Sep 06, 2018

I came to hoping to establish patient/dr relationship with Dr. Robinson.I was referred to Dr. Robinson by my physical therapist. My family practitioner retired last year and the new doctor I was assigned to was simply not interested. My appointment was scheduled for 2:40PM. I waited till 3:10 before I was called in. When the nurse measured my vital signs she asked me if it is OK that Dr. Robinson would be shadowed by a fellow physician. I was OK with this. She also shared with me that they were running late and that it would take about 10 minutes for dr. Robinson to see me. After 25 minutes, the doctor who was to shadow dr. Robinson showed up without dr. Robinson with him. He told me that he would take notes about my medical history/issues and pass those to dr. Robinson who would then come to discuss those with me. I responded that I was not interested to share my history with him, since this is probably last time I would see him. In contrary, my main hope was that my "new" dr. would spend some time wioth me to establish new relationship. He still insisted to discuss my history with me but I repeated that I was to do this with Dr. Robinson. He said, OK, but it would take a couple of minutes and he left. After another 10 minutes sitting in the exam room I got up and left. I would only say, my wife is a physician, and yes she was sometimes shadowed by a physician in training. Dr. Robinson approach to shadowing takes this to another level, which to me is totally unprofessional and unacceptable for a session introduced as an appointment to "Establish new patient/dr relationship".

  • Sep 01, 2018

My personal experience with getting results is less than one would expect with this, or any, provider.

  • Aug 22, 2018

Dr Robinson is very kind and caring ? always looking out for the best relief for your problem. He is very friendly and upbeat.

  • Aug 21, 2018

Let's say that empathy does not seem to be his strongest trait. He seems to have his view of life priorities, and that's the way it should be for everyone. 'nough said. Next question.
