Biography

Dr. Crane was born and raised in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida.  He studied health science education at the University of Florida, and later received his master's in public health (MPH) at Tulane University School of Public Health.

After graduate school, Dr. Crane joined the U.S. Peace Corps as a Water and Sanitation Volunteer in El Salvador. He trekked through the jungles and mountains of Chiapas, Mexico with traditional healers; worked on infectious disease outbreaks and surveillance as a Florida Department of Health Epidemiologist; and trained Migrant Farm workers to be “promoteres de salud” on the edge of the Florida Everglades.

During his time in public health, Dr. Crane had time to observe clinicians in action as they treated and educated patients and community members. Inspired, he decided to change the course of his career and pursue a medical degree. Dr. Crane studied at the University of South Florida's College of Medicine, and found his way to the Pacific Northwest via his residency at OHSU. Following his residency, he furthered his expertise in obstetrics with a fellowship at Swedish Medical Center. Today, Dr. Crane's practice is infused with his passion for underserved medicine and human rights.

When not in the clinic, Dr. Crane can be found enjoying all the outdoors have to offer - from snowboarding to surfing and everything in between.
