Dr. Saxton is an assistant professor at the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). She is also the director of the CDRC Developmental Evaluation Clinic (DEC), which provides care to prematurely born infants in a multidisciplinary team setting. 

Dr. Saxton also provides inpatient support to parents who have infants hospitalized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Doernbecher Children's Hospital. She is involved with direct patient care through the Child Development Program as well as the LEND Program, and is the consulting psychologist to OHSU’s Cochlear Implant Program.

Dr. Saxton's research interests include developmental and educational outcomes for children born prematurely, outcomes for children receiving cochlear implants, children's adjustment to traumatic loss, and the provision of hospital based parental support.

Dr. Saxton has worked in a variety of community, university, school, and hospital based clinics providing services to children and families. Furthermore, she is involved in a variety of training activities. Dr. Saxton provides direct assessment and/or treatment supervision to psychology practicum students, psychology interns participating in the APA-accredited internship, and post-doctoral psychology fellows.

She provides a number of talks to medical residents, parents, and community health professionals on a variety of topics.

In her spare time she enjoys travel, spending time with her family, cooking, and scuba diving.
