Resident listened well. Doctor laid out alternatives clearly and logically. I understood the complications of my situation and so did the doc. Very impressed with the amount of time they spent with me.

  • Dec 19, 2019

I have no issue regarding his capabilities. I trust him. The two issues I have is having to wait an hour or more past my appointment and never having that acknowledged. An apology goes a long way.Secondly, his bedside manner could be better. He comes off as very aloof. This is just probably who he is and at this stage in his career that is unlikely to change. To be clear, these are just my experiences but in no way are they deal breakers.

  • Dec 19, 2019

Good communicator, responsive to questions and anxieties, everything clear, through, well explained and most appreciated.

  • Dec 18, 2019

He answer my questions recently enough for the surgery but seem somewhat condescending and I had to call later to find out how the surgery went. I feel like he could have passed the results on if he couldn't have taken the time to speak to me or my family

  • Dec 17, 2019

    Efficient, thoughtful, responsive to questions

  • Dec 15, 2019

Yes, Dr. Orfaly is one of the most professional and skilled surgeons I've ever had ... ever had the privilege to meet and be a patient of. Other than that you asked for the survey on Sunday night, I would appreciate it if, in the future, you would wait and do this sometime during the weekday. Thank you.

Dr. Orfaly did not explain clearly enough to me, that, I was going to need 6 weeks worth of a pic line and antibiotics every day. So it's been a long process. I like him and I think he's good. I wish he'd made that more clear to me. That's all I had to say.

Dr Orfaly is a terrific orthopedist and teacher. He always has staff he's training, which I appreciate - I'm glad to be part of the training effort. He listens well, explains thoroughly, and takes precautions when giving steroid shots that I've never seen anybody else do.

  • Sep 05, 2019

He was informative and answered all my questions.

  • Sep 01, 2019

My first experience with Dr. Orfaly was really terrific before the surgery. He was comprehensive and and we're really very empathetic etc. It turns out we have somebody in common his former head of department at University of British Columbia who did both of my hip replacements in 1985 and 1989. So I told him I have very high expectations. My recent visit. I was very disappointed. It seemed to me that he was acting out for the two students who were there if I had known they were coming I would have said get him out of here. He was not at all and empathetic to me. He was a really rough and tough. He was not sympathetic to that. He was not encouraging. I have a bit of a road ahead of me to exercise this stuff and I was really pissed off to tell you the truth. It was like the old fashioned am dr. and I was he was very *

  • Aug 31, 2019

He did not explain to me clearly enough during my 1st visit to help me understand that it would be 3 to 4 months before I would get my shoulder replaced for good. When I got a call from infectious diseases I didn't have a clue what they were calling me for. He explained that to myself and my husband when I saw him on the 29th and I was not at all happy my shoulder hurts a lot pain meds don't help and he won't give me any he wants my "pain doctor" to treat my pain because I have an internal pain pump but that does nothing for my shoulder and basically has made me so tolerant of medication that I can't take enough pain medicine to help. So I will be suffering with this incredibly painful shoulder for 3 months at least. Of course when I told him that he hadn't explained it well he said that he had and I just didn't hear him O well I guess doctors are always right and patients are always wrong. However as a nurse practitioner for 34 years I can tell you that I listen to my patients and I explain things very carefully and very thoroughly and ask if they have questions so I can make sure they know exactly why I am treating whatever it is I'm treating. Guess I'm not very happy but I appreciate his perspective on infections & don't want one in my shoulder.

This is a return to Dr Orfaly w/5 yrs between, this time for his help with my rt hand. He's the only doctor I'll entrust my hand(s) or my loved ones' hands' care to. He's expert- in the office diagnosing, informing, in surgery repairing. His explanation begins as he takes the effected hand in his,w/o hesitation Dr Orfaly divulges the full extent of injury or illness, what's required to bring the hand back to as full function as is possible.
