About me

Dr. Michael Aziz joined OHSU in 2005. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan with dual majors in biology and religious studies, received his medical doctorate at the Ohio State University, and trained in anesthesiology at the University of Michigan. As a clinician, he enjoys being part of a busy regional anesthesia team. As a scientist, he is passionate about airway management with a focus on rigid video laryngoscopy. He is also an active member of the multicentered perioperative outcomes group which gleans data from electronic health records across the country to conduct outcomes studies. Michael also has several administrative roles in the department. He has served as the anesthesia director for the adult inpatient operating rooms, director of anesthesia services for out-of-OR cases, and medical director of the PACU. Currently, he serves as interim vice chair for clinical affairs. With his interest in outcomes data from electronic records, he has also served as the chief information officer for the department, and co-champion of the Epic Anesthesia information management system.
