I am honored to have followed in my mother’s footsteps by becoming a family doctor. I love the challenge of caring for a full spectrum of patient needs for people of all ages and genders, from newborns to grandparents to pregnant women.
I spend a lot of time thinking about how stress, community, and social circumstances affect health, which led me to study public health in addition to medicine. Throughout medical school, I worked to advance women’s health through advocacy, community organizing and lobbying. I also had the inspiring opportunity to work alongside community health workers to improve preventive care in a urban neighborhood in Nicaragua.
Having successfully started a small herb garden on my porch, I am hoping to find a community garden here in Portland where I can lend a hand. My other interests and hobbies outside of work include running, painting, travel, cooking, listening to podcasts and improving my Spanish.
