Biography

I especially enjoy caring for patients with food allergies, celiac disease, pancreatic/liver disease, and inflammatory bowel disease. It is great to see these children grow and thrive once their illness is under control.

I love to hike, camp and kayak with our English setter dogs. We love the Northwest because of its endless opportunities to do all these activities. I am a passionate gardener and love to dig in the dirt. On time off, I assist my husband in 4-H activities as he is a 4-H director.

  • Jan 16, 2019

We came in for an upper GI endoscopy. Everybody made us feel so safe, comfortable, and welcome.

  • Jan 11, 2019

Fantastic service in the infusion center. Dr Muir and the dietician came to meet with us. Pharmacy could be a little more organized. Ordered refills a week prior to our visit to have them ready, but I went 4 times during the infusion before they were ready.

Dr. Muir is absolutely phenomenal at the only drawback was that I had to wait nearly six months in order to see her. And I had to drive all the way to Portland in order to do so.

  • Dec 29, 2018

Dr. Muir is amazing, very down to earth, very approachable, very no nonsense. She knows what she's doing. And she's a human being with compassion and patience and I greatly appreciate her and everyone at Doernbecher.

  • Dec 28, 2018

Linda Muir was absolutely excellent. She was very professional but yet she was very friendly and caring, she cared about my grandson and she cared about me very very much. Also. I am still waiting back though for a call to make an appointment with the Portland Hospital up there so that I'm not real happy with because I expected them to call back sooner. But as far as Linda Muir goes, she's absolutely perfect. Thank you.

Everyone was so kind to my son, exceptional staff!

  • Nov 10, 2018

She is very knowledgable and really seems to care about the patient.

  • Nov 05, 2018

Dr. Muir listened to both me and my daughter and seemed like she really cared about what was going on. She treated us with respect and she talked easily with my daughter. I'm optimistic to work with her. She wanted to work with me instead of just telling me what needed to be done to figure out what is going on and with deciding what types of test to move forward with and what steps to take.

  • Nov 03, 2018

    very personable

  • Sep 05, 2018

Really appreciate that she was on time, on schedule, saw Connor as soon as he was supposed to be seen, and was very, very respectful and thorough with his medical needs, not even just his GI needs, but knowing that because he has autism, there's other needs that have to be taken care of, while under anesthesia as well, and she was just very, very, very respectful, kind, thorough, and helped to not only provide the second opinion that we needed, but hopefully have us on the path for making all of his medical stuff a little bit easier. So, very grateful.

  • Jul 24, 2018

(INAUDIBLE) Is great. We were on time and we got a butt load of information that we didn't get through somebody else, we actually got the head of the department to get a second opinion and I'm feeling a little better about our child's health than I was before. And (INAUDIBLE) and I expect us to keep going and thank you.

Hi, Dr. Linda, I know that you have extremely difficult task to do in a very short amount of time, when we left [Name] had stated to me she doesn't even know if you received any information from her about what was really going on. So in amongst all the data collection [Name] felt like she wasn't asked any direct questions about what she thinks is really happening with her body and like what she thinks is possibly the solution or about what her experience has been with things, with solution attempts so far. She felt like there's nothing actually going to be able to help her and it was very sad to me and *

  • Jul 12, 2018

She was very thorough, friendly, asked questions and we do look forward to continuing with her, just because we have a problem that?s ongoing and I look forward to see how it goes from here, thank you.

  • May 05, 2018

I was extremely disappointed and felt like she made judgements about my child and assumptions about my child condition based on having a prescription. prescribed to him. Once she saw that my child had a prescription for Narcan, given by his psychiatrist, that was all the appointment was about. his past use of opioids over 10 months ago, and that his issues were related only to his smoking marijuana and his other medications that manage his anxiety. she did not appear to care or be concerned that this issues we were coming to her for were presenting themselves way before any of the past drug use started. I felt she saw that he had a specific medication and passed judgement and was closed off to discuss any other reasons as to why he had the symptoms he had. we left with lab work, and a prescription. for a stool softener and told to follow up with adult GI based on his age. my son felt judged and i don't think it was appropriate.

    always great care!!

  • Feb 19, 2018

Dr. Muir has been a real asset to my sons health. Thank you Dr. Muir

  • Jan 18, 2018

Doctor needs more time given to help us.

  • Jan 11, 2018

First, let me say how much I appreciate her fitting us in to her very busy schedule; she's obviously an expert in her field, and we are grateful for the many tools she is using to try to bring a diagnosis to our son's complicated GI issues. However, I always feel our visits are too short to answer my questions adequately, and we barely scratch the surface of important information before she needs to move on. She often forgets in the moment our son's medical history, and since we don't have a solid diagnosis yet, it's like having to re-open the jig-saw puzzle box and start from the beginning each time...when the puzzle was (we had thought) already half put-together. I don't believe this is in any way intentional; she is simply stretched so thin due to her case load, she can't remember all our son's details, or hasn't had time to adequately review his history before meeting with us, and when we have a study done that requires a lot o time to review, she doesn't have adequate uninterrupted time in the office to review it in a timely fashion. She is kind and incredibly intelligent with a wonderful bedside manner, and again, we are incredibly thankful for her expertise, but our difficulty in getting a proper diagnosis is, in my opinion, largely due to our wonderful doctor being spread too thin. Please hire more doctors to ease the burden placed on the shoulders of the ones you already have... then everyone wins! The patients, the doctors, and ultimately the University.

Dr. Muir doesn't listen to the parent. She dismissed all of my concerns as she has been for months. I'm seeking another opinion.

  • Nov 30, 2017

good experience how ever I am concerned with the amount of medication my child is on. I want a long term fix for her not to be on strong meciation to cover up her symptoms.

  • Nov 02, 2017

She seemed very knowledgeable, I didn't take my concerns seriously. Also glossed over the amount of pain my child is in. She seemed rather impatient with my child.

  • Oct 29, 2017

This provider only cared about getting us in and out as soon as possible, by her words. Cared more about rushing through the appointment so we could see the nutritionist, which was absolutely pointless. All of my concerns were dismissed. medication questions were not explained. I am left with having to deal with my childs conditions by my self while we wait for a referral to a different hospital. I WILL NEVER TRUST OHSU AGAIN. This seems to be a reoccurring issue no matter which specialty you see. THE WORST HOSPITAL IN ALL OF OREGON, drove 1.5 hours to get there, only to be rushed through a 5 minute specialty visit for a newborn.

  • Aug 27, 2017

The doctor was knowledgeable about her topic. She did give me a few things to try that no one else had told me. For being a specialty doctor at a children's hospital, I was disappointed that she did not interact with [Name] and be more friendly towards her. After about 10 min. [Name] tuned her out and just wanted to leave. I know that there is a time limit to visits and the need to get to things quickly but it was like she knew everything and answered to abruptly at times. I have been trying to get to the bottom of [Name]'s coughing since Feb. of this year. I've seen her primary, his asthma specialist, an allergist, an ENT, and was sent to you guys for further checking. I did not like that she put down what the other doctors had told me and that they don't know what they are talking about. I'm waiting for insurance to authorize an Endoscopy.
