Biography

Dr. Armsby specializes in caring for children with heart problems.  Before coming to OHSU in 2006, Dr. Armsby worked as an interventional cardiologist, performing procedures which treat heart disorders and in some cases may replace heart surgery, at one of the top Children’s Hospitals in the country.
At OHSU she sees patients with many different forms of heart problems.  Her areas of expertise include complex congenital heart disease, interventional cardiology, heart transplantation, and abnormal cholesterol.
Dr. Armsby has a long-standing interest in helping strengthen systems of care, particularly for populations of children whose access to medical care is vulnerable or insufficient.  Toward this end she spends time each year working with teams in American Samoa and in Beijing.
Dr. Armsby also very much enjoys educating and mentoring young physicians.  She is a faculty member of pediatric subspecialty board review courses, contributed to the national recommendations for training in pediatric cardiology, and has directed the pediatric cardiology fellowship program at OHSU since 2006.

This provider was knowledgeable and I loved the way she spoke directly to my child, and included my child in the conversation. She made everything very easy to understand from a child's perspective, to understand the medical problems we are dealing with.

This is [Name] grandfather. I'm a nurse practitioner, and I found the physician to be very personable, very knowledgeable, had great communication skills for kids and for families, and I couldn't give a higher recommendation. She was great. Thank you.

She was professional, informative, kind, patient, and made us feel very cared for. We knew our son was not as serious as many that are seen here but she did not rush us or make us feel she was in a hurry. She was very caring and compassionate and helped us feel at ease and helped us understand next steps and how to best care for our son.

We were very happy with Dr. Armsby. She took the time to sit down with [Name] and explain everything about his bicuspid aortic valve, so that he and I and my husband, we all felt really super comfortable with her plan for moving forward, and him being able to continue competitive sports as a high school student. She was just...she was just so great. So we really, really appreciated her. Thank you.
