Dr. Katharine Hopkins began her medical training in her home state of California, where she received her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco and completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Stanford University. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia for fellowship training in pediatric radiology at Emory University, subsequently joining the faculty as an assistant professor in 1995. She moved to OHSU in 2001 and currently holds the rank of professor in the Departments of Diagnostic Radiology and Pediatrics.
Dr. Hopkins specializes in pediatric imaging. She has authored over 30 publications and participated in over 50 scientific presentations at national and international meetings. She is grateful to the terrific mentors who have guided her throughout her career and could not be more proud of the students, residents, and fellows that she has had the privilege of training. Outside of the hospital, she and her husband, David, are fans of Portland professional basketball, Mike and Mike, and the Oregon Humane Society.
Dr. Hopkins is a specialty fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics and Oregon Pediatric Society. She is also a member of the Society for Pediatric Radiology, American Association for Women Radiologists, American Association of University Women, American Roentgen Ray Society, American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology, International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, Pacific Coast Pediatric Radiology Association, Pacific Northwest Radiological Society, Oregon Medical Association, Radiological Society of North America, and Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.
