About me

Dr. Yoo joined the department in 2004 as professor and chairman. His clinical interest is spine surgery.  His research interests include enhancing the success of spine fusion and the engineering of new bone and cartilage from patients' own stem cells. Dr. Yoo stepped down as department chair in 2020 after serving in the role for 16 years. Moving on from the responsibilities of the department chair, his primary focus is on surgical practice and teaching.
