Dr. Bissonnette earned his medical degree from McGill University and completed his residency at John Hopkins Hospital. He was board certified in maternal fetal medicine in 1975 and is currently a professor at OHSU. His interests are prenatal genetics and fetal structure defects. His laboratory studies center around the control of respiration in the fetus and newborn. Current studies involve a mouse model of Rett Syndrome. He enjoys sculling on the Willamette.
