While Dr.Bernard eas kids nd and performed a nuerological evaluation, she seemed rushed and didn’t seem to have time to listen or explain her thinking sbout my sympyims and diagnosis.

  • May 09, 2019

The only complaint is my appt was not on time. We made sure to be there early from Albany. Dr. Bernard is very nice and felt she is knowledgeable, appreciated the 2nd opinion.I would like to say my lab draw was not a good experience. My right arm is very bruised, that has never happened. I showed him the best vein. It was very painful, and knew it he didn't go in that big vein right:(

  • May 05, 2019

I appreciated that she accommodated the fact that I live a distance away and so that was a Skype office visit and even though it doesn't make up for the visit that ended up being missed I was able to take care of some things related to some of the medications on what not and I think that's really important for our patients that live a far distance or for weather concerns what not. So I really like that idea.

I like this provider, I didn't like that due to situations outside her understanding, she was running 30 minutes late, but other than that, she couldn't help it people apparently were late for their appointments, but she's very confident. She's very friendly and I like her a lot and would gladly recommend her. Thank you.

  • May 02, 2019

Always a pleasure to deal Dr. Bernard. She listens to everything I had to say and we have a plan going forward for further improvement. Dr. Bernard has made more progress than anyone else.

  • Apr 25, 2019

I had some interesting issues and some very important ones. Dr. Bernard was very very helpful in helping me deal with these issues and getting everything done that she could. I can't give her enough ... I wish I could give her an 11. Thank you.

  • Feb 14, 2019

Seems to be somewhat knowledgeable and kind. It was frustrating that my former neurologist was not given any credit and I didn’t feel like she listened to me.

  • Feb 05, 2019

My experience was very good, Dr. Bernard is easy to talk to. And she is really trying to be very helpful to me. I really think she is very very good. Thank you.

  • Feb 05, 2019

She was very, very good. Thank you.

  • Jan 30, 2019

She is very kind and professional. I think she knows her stuff and I’m happy to be under her care.

  • Jan 26, 2019

No, I felt that the exam she gave was not (INAUDIBLE) properly. She didn't seem to be paying attention what she was doing. She was just doing it by rote. She doesn't seem to take my situation seriously or even believe what I believe but I have the condition I have. Thank you.

  • Jan 22, 2019

A good listener. Interventions are appropriate. Like her alot.

  • Jan 19, 2019

I really really appreciate her. I think she really knows what everything and I just loved her.

I feel complete trust in the doctor that she's easy to be with she explains everything and she has a bit of a sense of humor. I would recommend her to anybody. Thank you.

Hi. Yeah, I think that thing I didn't like about Jacqueline is that I really needed to have my hydrocodone like 15 caps over 6 months. It's not even any at all, but I need to have that for my attacks that I have and I use that with flexeril. I've had trygeneral myalgia 10 years and she's the first one that will not let me have that anymore and it makes me full of anxiety and just super upset, so I'm not very happy about that. And she also wouldn't give me a handicapped placard. So, I don't know. Otherwise she was good just felt like she's kind of had a attitude.

  • Nov 30, 2018

I found Dr Bernard very professional, a good listener and very understanding person.

  • Nov 29, 2018

It was OK I finished the questionnaire but had to wait for the Doctors otherwise it was OK

  • Nov 21, 2018

Yes, just because I'm a difficult case, I have more than just MS to deal with - she really tried to address all the issues, in trying to get as much help as I can possibly get. The information that she did give me was very helpful.

  • Nov 16, 2018

Not the nicest lady in the world. Didn't listen to my worries or concerns more self motivated with what she felt needed to be done and sent me on my way!

  • Nov 09, 2018

I enjoy the research that is accomplished!

  • Oct 25, 2018

Dr. Bernard was thorough, answered all of my questions , and asked questions that were relevant to my condition.

  • Oct 24, 2018

She was nice enough, but from the very start, Dr Bernard popped in to introduce herself, obviously rushed, and asked if a student could also come in. Then the student came in without the Dr. and executed the entire intake and observation. The student left and we sat and waited about 10 minutes for the Dr. (we almost left). When Dr Bernard finally came back in, her opening line was "how do you feel about your diagnosis?" What???? (I hate that I got this diagnosis of MS, what kind of an opening question is this?) I assume she hadn't seen my MRI images because she asked the student if I'd had them done. She did answer questions we had, but when it came to us asking questions about my diet tying into the disease, she asked the student to print off something from the OHSU Wellness page. When it came to discussing the various meds available, she was more concerned with what could get approved easiest by insurance rather than what was going to be the best/most effective option for me. She glanced at her watch several times throughout the session and just gave the overall impression that she was pressed for time. To close the session, she sent Nurse Debbie in to answer any med questions we might have. Debbie was the best part of our experience - very nice and displayed empathy for this new diagnosis. When exiting, we were out in the lobby and the Dr. walked by with her street clothes and backpack on. Clearly, her lunch hour. I left OHSU with a pit in my stomach and no interest in continuing with OHSU. If a Dr. can't even make a patient feel like they matter, what's the point? I understand that doctors are busy people but I've never had one make me feel like they had other things they needed to be doing.

  • Oct 20, 2018

She was fantastic! She is wise and knows her stuff which I really appreciate. She helped me accept my limitations without worry and let my doc know to not worry about some things relating to my situation. This made it possible to get the help I needed. Without her I might have been in trouble but it all worked out!

  • Oct 16, 2018

Dr. Bernard was fabulous! She truly listened to every question I asked, thoroughly reviewed my previous medical and I walked away with a better understanding of my situation and the next steps.

  • Oct 12, 2018

Very kind and really took the time to listen to me and help me. I left with some positive ideas and rays of hope!

  • Oct 05, 2018

Dr. B. is very personable, but sometimes appears inattentive to my questions and concerns, as though she were pressed for time. Also, i have repeatedly requested the information in my file be more reflective of current events, yet the file has been virtually unchanged over the course of our three-year relationship. It seems none of thee disease progression of which i am acutely aware has been adequately documented or investigated.

  • Oct 04, 2018

Very professional, receptive, pleasant and knowledgeable.

  • Oct 04, 2018

She explained clearly my symptoms, the reasons for an MS diagnosis, and the medication.

  • Oct 04, 2018

she is knowledgable and personable and has a sense of humor that makes it easy to relate to her. I like her and respect her professionalism.

  • Aug 31, 2018

Dr.Barnard is very caring and knowledgeable.

  • Aug 31, 2018

Extremely knowledgeable provider - also understanding and empathetic

  • Aug 20, 2018

Yes, the provider was nice, but I was extremely disappointed because I saw somebody there 12 years ago, and she was going on that they didn't find anything, although 3 other neurologist have looked at my MRI and say that I have MS, and she said I didn't. Within 2 minutes of me walking in the door. So I didn't feel she was doing her own assessment, and she was reading notes from 12 years ago and came up with this. That is all.

  • Aug 14, 2018

    Doctors excelent

  • Aug 09, 2018

I like Dr. Bernard she always makes time for you

  • Aug 01, 2018

The appointment felt rushed, and it didn't seem like she was very engaged in what I was saying.

  • Jul 25, 2018

I feel that knowing I was coming in from a distance to see a provider because I value her expertise and I think it would have been better if she had at least known I can't walk. Second thing, I don't think I was physically assessed enough to move on to my next provider as was requested by the provider I saw. I also felt that it wasn't fair for the provider to tell me that I should see someone locally simply because the nurse that takes questions wasn't able to answer the few questions I requested answers for in the last month. I felt like I was being treated like a bad patient because I had had some questions I left on MyChart, which were valid questions and*
