About me

Chris Marcella specializes in the clinical application of echocardiography for fetal, pediatric and adult patients with complex congenital heart disease. This includes prenatal, pre- and post-operative neonatal and pediatric imaging, as well as assisting during intra-operative and intra-cardiac catheter based imaging procedures.

He has over 30 years of medical experience and since 1999, practices exclusively in the field of fetal and pediatric echocardiography.  During his time here he has been involved with tens of thousands of echocardiograms in his area of practice. Beginning in 2004, he has worked to establish and develop a 3-Dimensional Echocardiography Program at Doernbecher. Chris assumes a primary role in the clinical education and training of the next generation of Pediatric Cardiology physicians in the application of echocardiographic techniques within the Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship program.
