Dr. Carter Wray was born in St. Louis, MO, and has lived in many places including Rochester, NY, central New Jersey, New Hampshire and Vermont before moving to Georgia to teach high school in Atlanta. He has spent summers teaching kayaking and rafting in Utah and Wyoming.
Dr. Wray specializes in caring for children with brain and nerve problems, especially those with medically refractory epilepsy, or seizures that do not stop despite children being on anti-epileptic medications. He has advanced training in interpreting EEGs (brain wave tracings), and working children up for possible epilepsy surgery. For children whose seizures do not stop despite being on anti-epileptics, but who are not surgical candidates, he works with our dietitian Karrie Stuhlsatz to offer the ketogenic diet, modified Atkins diet, and low glycemic index diets. Dr. Wray enjoys working with kids because they have such an amazing ability to overcome adversity.
In his spare time, Dr. Wray is an avid whitewater kayaker, biker, and ultimate frisbee player. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and son.Read more

Not very satisfied with the results. Didn't want to listen to anything. Wife had to say she did have a slight absent seizure. The next day, we would like to have a second opinion from a different doctor.

Pamela Haskell and Dr Wray are changing our daughter’s life. She went from having frequent seizures and ambulance rides to the ER to being able to crawl and interact. The ketogenic diet has caused her seizures to lessen substantially, and her development to dramatically increase, we are overjoyed with the progress; and the continuation of titrating her off of harmful meds.

I think he was an excellent doctor, excellent service and super professional and it was super for this and I had a great experience. Thanks.

It was great. Mr wray is a good doctor.

Incredibly rude, demeaning, and making our previous work with other providers sounds incompetent. He was... he was wanting to put our daughter on some very strong medications that we didn't agree with, and then made a lot of accusations about our current neurologist.

We wouldn't as a family see ourselves working with any other doctor. Dr. Wray is one of the greatest doctors we've come across with our daughter's diagnosis, and we really really enjoyed working with him. Thank you.

We are always happy with Dr. Wray because he gives us options and he always leaves it up to the parents to decide which treatment options were going to move forward with and he does not pressure one way or the other but just gives us his information that he knows and then leave that up to us.

I thought we had a great experience meeting this provider and he seemed like he was really into into what was going on into what our son's needs were and then our causes and concerns and cares about our son's condition and ongoing treatment. He seems very personable and made it a very comfortable first meeting appointment.

Everything went smoothly from the valet parking to getting checked in right away and to the doctor being professional and very thorough.

I appreciate him because he's very direct and to the point and thorough and knowledgeable.

He is very focused on [Name] and what she wants rather than what her parents want. He is preparing her to manage her own health care, which is great. He is strongly opinionated and doesn't like his opinions to be challenged at all. He is quite knowledgeable yet can be dismissive.

Dr. Wray and his staff were wonderful as usual.

Professional, addressed our son directly rather than taking about him in front of him, which is refreshing.

Dr Wray is extremely intelligent and well versed in seizure support and the Keto diet for seizure suppression. His social skills could use a bit of improvement. The first appointment was very awkward since he picked my child up from me without asking, this appointment was better. I think it's imperative to have professional training for all medical staff on soft skills, informed consent, and providing a trauma informed model of care for all clientele.

He validated fears, feelings, thoughts and questions. Made me feel like I am not alone in this struggle to find the answers that are right for my son

Very experienced and knowledgeable provider. One thing is though that it is hard to get a word in. Otherwise no complaints.

We felt very well taken care of.

We had a positive experience with Dr. Wray. It was our first visit to Doernbecher. He spent a significant amount of time answering our questions, as well as explaining things. Although, our daughter's medical journey is not over, we left feeling relieved and hopeful.

We got immediate answers to all of our questions
