Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any copayments, co–insurance, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
Dr. Cait Goss is a family physician. Dr. Goss loves family medicine because it gives her space to be very passionate about many things - patient education! Evidence based prenatal care! Integrative medicine! Suturing techniques! Sexual health! Vaccine schedules! Epidemiology! Abortion! And also gives her the opportunity to make faces at babies.
Dr. Goss was born in Northern Michigan, but spent her childhood bouncing around South and Central America. Her family finally settled in New Mexico, where she did not attend high school, and thus developed a taste for volunteering, rock climbing, and theater- habits she has yet to break.
In university she studied biochemistry and studio art, a combination which made perfect sense at the time. After graduating, she followed the footsteps of her parents and her grandparents by joining the Peace Corps.
While in Jamaica, Dr. Goss worked with first time mothers, started a night school, and successfully applied for a grant from the World Bank. After those feats of bureaucratic prowess, she finally felt ready for the challenges of medical school. She went to the University of New Mexico. Her greatest accomplishment during medical school was serving as the President of the Board of Medical Students for Choice, which is a great organization doing really good work.
When not working, Dr. Goss enjoys spending time outside in the sunshine, making ridiculous art projects, writing letters to congress people, and naps. She is excited to be here in Portland with a brilliant group of family medicine doctors who are going to change the world.
