Why aren't there any ratings?

There is no publicly available rating for this care provider for one of three reasons:

About me

Dr. Messer specializes in treating infections in organ and bone marrow transplant recipients, HIV patients and infections in the general population. Dr. Messer also has a particular interest in tropical diseases and studies viral diseases transmitted by mosquitoes. Dr. Messer finds working with vulnerable populations – those that are immunocompromised or living in the developing world - particularly challenging but also uniquely rewarding.

Dr. Messer enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife who is an epidemiologist and professor at Portland State University and his three teenage daughters. He is an avid alpine and backcountry skier and he and his wife enjoy running and cycling together. He takes a serious, but safely distant, interest in all of his daughters’ sports and academic activities. His creative outlets include photography and woodworking.
