About me

Dr. Andrew Wang, a family doctor, enjoys establishing long-term relationships with patients and helping them manage their health. His interest in medicine was fueled by volunteering at a Portland clinic that serves people with limited access to health care.

Dr. Wang, when he was an emergency department medical scribe, recognized a growing need for primary care. He became passionate about community health and decided to become a family medicine doctor. “I strive to promote the health and well-being of my patients and my community,” he says.

Dr. Wang was born in New England and spent most of his childhood in the small town of Millbury, Massachusetts. He moved to Portland as a teenager.

He spends his free time with his wife, a registered nurse, and two children. He is a diehard fan of the Portland Trail Blazers and Seattle Seahawks. He likes running, and has finished the Portland Marathon twice. He also enjoys trips to the Oregon Coast, where you will often find him searching for glass floats in Lincoln City.

Insurance

Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any copayments, co–insurance, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
