About me

Alvin Prasad practices immediate care for people of all ages.

Alvin and his wife decided to make Portland their home when Alvin was accepted into OHSU’s PA program. After moving from Fiji at the age of 17, Alvin decided to enlist and serve in the United States Navy for 6 years. He was first exposed to the practice of medicine as a Navy Corpsman. He traveled the world with the US Marines and cared for them on various missions. Through his service in the military, his passion for medicine and helping others deepened.

After completing his service, he had a new goal; to become a Physician Assistant.

Apart from medicine and academics, Alvin is an avid soccer player and fan. During his free time he likes to work on cars and enjoys spending time with his 2 cats (Marble and Ace) and exploring Portland with his wife.

Insurance

Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any copayments, co–insurance, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
