Dr. Jalili was awarded his Ph.D. degree on Information Technology in 2016 at the Politecnico di Milano with cum laude. His Ph.D. dissertation is focused on systematic solutions for efficient retrieval and inference from large collection of the next-generation sequencing data (e.g., ChIP-seq and RNA-seq). He has been a core team member of the Galaxy project since 2016, a Web-based framework for data-driven biomedical analysis. His research within the context of the Galaxy project has been focused on providing users with means of comparatively studying their in-house data with protected (and/or private) data cohorts. More specifically, he has extended the Galaxy framework in the areas of user authentication and authorization delegation to protected data cohorts, storage and compute resource federation, and on-premise and Cloud deployment of a Galaxy instance. His research interest spans topics in artificial intelligence and computational biology; such as application of reinforcement and deep learning to cancer studies.
