After completing her graduate work in Russia, Dr. Shnitko joined the Bowles Center for Alcohol Studies at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, where she studied alcohol drinking as a habitual behavior using rodent models. In 2016, she joined the Division of Neuroscience at ONPRC as a faculty member to study the phenomenon of habitual alcohol drinking in nonhuman primates.
