Stephen Palani, M.S., is a graduate student at CEDAR developing novel devices for rapid, low-cost screening of single cells and analytes to provide accurate and distinctive diagnostic capabilities for cancer early detection. On a more fundamental basis, he also wishes to utilize plasmonic nanomaterials and Raman spectroscopy to interrogate particular structures and conformations of cells and proteins. Palani has his master's degree in nanoengineering from the University of California, San Diego.
