Silvio de Melo, M.D.

  • Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, School of Medicine

Biography

Dr. de Melo specializes in all aspects of interventional endoscopy and complex endoscopic cases and minimally invasive procedures. These procedures allow for therapy to be applied through the instrument, often saving patients to have major surgeries. Dr. de Melo enjoys working in this field because he can work in all aspects of his patients care: before the procedure, during it, as well as, after the procedure.

In his spare time, Dr. de Melo enjoys music, particularly Bossa Nova, playing his acoustic guitar as well as grilling the perfect “Brazilian Churrasco”. He is new to Oregon and he is looking forward to explore the great outdoors with his wife and 3 children.
